IT...R...ALYVE...!!1 D:

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 13, 2006, 12:18 AM
Well, seems the time I've spent and lavished upon my fledgling 3D skillpool is close to paying off; I've amassed all the technical knowledge I need (or think I need D: ) to fully assemble that animation I was working on earlier. Featuring squiggly worm-things and a heckofalotta books, it's the first animation I'll ever have made in 3D, so I'm looking forwards to having it done.

For the moment, however, I've posted a slightly edited screenshot of my progress so far (or rather one of my mistakes in the process of making that progress XP). Hopefully there won't be any more hiccups like that one; so far so good, and any other problems should just be creative ones, but you never can know some days... >.>

I'll post it once I'm done. Hopefully it'll provide a few laughs. :3

Until next time...!

Nice to meet you as well, Izzy (shakes hand); there's certainly nothing wrong with a little random. =P Don't mind me too much; I can copy-and-paste better than the next fellow, I suppose, but art-wise I'm better with words than with pictures or paints. I'm enjoying the 3D software I began using recently, however, so perhaps I'll manage to get somewhere interesting with that. =3

Oh, no, not that hat! Ezlo was a fairly original character, I thought. I liked that game, although I found Vaati to be easier than I would have liked... =P

No, I was referring to this screenshot;

([link]),

which is apparently from Twilight Princess (to which I was referring). Again, I like that hat. :XD:

And yeah, I'm pretty curious about the Revolution...although I haven't exaclty been parousing though various forums, according to IGN quite a few of them are rife with speculation about Nintendo's new controller system, from pressure pads to voice control. Nintendo has been very quiet about the whole thing, although they've also been dropping miniscule hints about it. Apparently, you can also download older N64 and SNES games to play, as well!

You probably know all this already, though. ^^;

Well, they say everything will be revealed before the end of the year for Revolution, so we'll see :)

Do you mean like the hat that Link used in Minish Cap? From what I played, I couldn't alter space or time with Link's hat in any way, unfortunately XD

Well, I suppose so, but being one without a gamecube I still resent the financial duress... ;) I'm almost wondering if I should hold out for Nintendo's next-gen console, which has confirmed gamecube game and controller support.

Thing is, the 2006 deadline kinda throws me off as well... :XD:

And yeah, I know that Twilight Princess will probably look much better on-screen than it does in the screenshots, but when things are held still like that it's not to difficult to detect the flaws littering the form. As well, that hat idea they're using (while very cool) is not actually a new idea. It was a major gameplay factor in another, less well-known game where the player used a posessed scarf (which formed into an arm-thing froma round the character's neck) to alter the landscape and attack/defend against enemies. It sounded pretty cool at the time, actually - you could pull the ground up as a shield and stretch opponents appart, among other things... =D

My brother XD

It may seem like a bit of a ploy, but once you play it, you'll realise there's no other way it can be done.. There is a lot of going in houses, going into caves, etc, that depend on one - three of the four players - and without the extra screen in your hands the gameplay will be so restricted. I think Nintendo made it for those who already have a GBA and GameCube (as many people do), but I honestly can't think of another way it can be done. Also, Nintendo give you a GBA cable for free when you buy the game, so it's not all that bad :)

And don't worry about the graphic quality - the videos and screenshots just don't give it the justice it deserves. When you finally pick up the controller and stare at the game screen, you won't believe your eyes. It looks so incredible that you won't be able to understand it - and that's coming from someone who played it for well over an hour almost two months ago and still can't understand it :D

Who was the first person? =P

I know that FSA can be played with GC alone, but then you're robbed of a bunch of functionality when you want to do multiplayer stuff with friends. It's a shame that they'd resort to such a ploy in order to increase sales...I thought it looked pretty cool, at least, but then I like sprites a lot. :no:

Yeah, Twilight Princess looks cool, although I had kinda hoped they'd turn up the grapic quality a notch or two before releasing it - some of the skins seemed a little drab here and there.

I must have that hat thing the person riding the wolf wears, though. I could make a sammich without getting up from my chair! Yee! :giggle:

You know, you're the second person to mention that Mr Stabhead reminds you of Mr Stabby XD It wasn't intentional ^^; But I'm glad you like the animations!

FSA is also fun without the GBA, so you can play it with nothing more than a GameCube, but if you have a GBA, and you have friends with GBAs, it is really worth buying the link cables (they're only about $5-10 each now) to link up and play with friends, it's one of the best multiplayer experiences ever!

If you don't have a GameCube, just wait until you've played Zelda: Twilight Princess.. There's no reason not to buy a 'Cube to play that XD I'm such a Zelda fanboy ^^;

Heh, I liked them both. The Mr. Stabhead animations were funny! :XD:

Reminds me of another character I saw a while ago, actually, "Mr. Stabby". Course, I like yours better, though; less violent. He only stabs himself. =P

I'm glad you like my writing! It's nice to know that others enjoy something you've made (when the bloody bastards aren't trying to claim it as their own, anyway ;) ).

Bah...all your Zelda art makes me wish I had a Gamecube and 4 Swords...I can't beleive they expect a person to buy 4 GBAs and corresponding link cables to go underground, though...! All I have is the GBA version, although that's still pretty fun, too. =D
